In early June, our dedicated students poured their efforts into rehearsing Seussical the Musical, a captivating and enchanting spectacle!
Adapted from the imaginative works of Dr. Seuss by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, our talented Nazareth College students have brilliantly brought to life a host of beloved characters, such as Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, and the imaginative young boy, Jojo. These vibrant personalities whisk us away on a marvelous journey, traversing from the Jungle of Nool to the lively Circus McGurkus and even into the invisible realm of the Whos.
Through the narrative spun by The Cat in the Hat, we become immersed in Horton’s tale.
As an elephant, he stumbles upon a tiny speck of dust, harboring a community of Whos, including Jojo, a curious child who was sent to military school for his abundant “thinks.” Horton faces a dual challenge: safeguarding the Whos from a world filled with skepticism and perils, while also nurturing an abandoned egg left in his care by the careless Mayzie La Bird. Despite facing ridicule, danger, abduction, and even a trial, Horton perseveres, buoyed by the unwavering faith of the brave Gertrude McFuzz. Ultimately, this enthralling journey puts the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community to the test, and they emerge triumphant.
Our students performed multiple shows to hundreds of guests in the Wheeler Auditorium. Accompanied by an Orchestra and outstanding hair, make up and costume – it was truly a spectacular experience to watch our students perform!
